Sacramento Bee downsizing - buyouts offered to some employees

Somehow I missed this news from earlier this week. The Sacramento Bee is offering voluntary buyouts to a small number of employees. According to the Bee, about 2 percent or fewer than 30 employees are expected to take the offer. The buyouts will be given mostly to support personnel working outside the newsroom. That includes finance, human resources, production and circulation. Last year, the Bee's revenue fell 17 percent.

Meanwhile, another McClatchy newspaper announced plans to outsource adwork to Express KCS, an India firm.
