Odd story out of Mosul... Iraqi army helps free university students who had been kidnapped by terrorists near Mosul

Here's a strange story I missed few days ago.

Earlier this week, terrorists at a bogus checkpoint south of Mosul tried to stop two buses bringing university students to Mosul University. The first bus managed to get away but the bad guys stopped the second bus, and 42 male students were seized.

An Iraqi police helicopter observed the kidnappers and fired warning shots at the fleeing vehicle. The terrorists stopped the vehicle and fled. Iraqi and US forces rounded up multiple suspects.

The above photo (U.S. Army photo/Pfc. Sarah De Boise) shows several of the university students lining up to identify the men that held them hostage earlier in a truck in Western Mosul, Iraq, on April 6, 2008.

Jawa Report here.
