Next up for McClatchy -- freezing pension plans?
A commenter here threw out a possible next option if McClatchy's finances worsen: the company could freeze the pension plan.

Uh, will someone please tell me what "frozen pension plan" means for those already retired... from Knight-Ridder? Every newspaper account simply quotes the press release.
Can someone tell me if the current pension plan for retirees from McClatchy will be effected? soon?
I need to make plans for another loss!!!! So much for working all of your life!!
