This blog is mainly about the spectacular train wreck at The Sacramento Bee and its parent company, the McClatchy Company. But I also post about current events, the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, politics, anything else that grabs my attention. Take a look around this blog, hope you enjoy it.

Kansas City Star update - 26 employees accept the buyout
My last day but thanks for all the information you gave me along the way. I'll still read the blog because after 20 years I will always be interested. Who would have ever dreamed it would have turn out this way. I remember the cheering that went up when we heard that McClatchy bought us from KR, how wrong it tuned out to be. 26 good people left today but we'll all be OK because we just don't have to worry about losing our jobs anymore.
Another former McClatchy reporter (Miami Herald) makes good (actually just plain makes) http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2008/09/carvalhos_liason.php
