IRONY IN ACTION...(Modesto Ca.) So I'm at the EDD office looking for work and my case worker tells me that a job fair is being held today at the Modesto Center Plaza. I head on over there and LO AND BEHOLD...it is sponsored by...THE Modesto Bee and CareerBuilders.com
The turn out was dismal to say the least. About 10 businesses from the area and 12 to 14 vocational schools. The hostesses were old coworkers I knew and they seemed ashamed to even be there, and one was thinking she was not going to be at the Bee much longer.

BUNCH OF HYPOCRITES!!!!!

Anonymous - Is the ModBee actually hiring?

That's the ironic part...No they are NOT hiring, they just were the corporate sponsor of the job fair. They have done this quarterly over the last few years as an advertising revenue generating venue. In fact as I was talking to the ladies who were hosting the greeting table two people came up and asked them if the Bee was hiring. They looked at me, rolled their eyes and replied no they weren't. Looks like they had answered that question often throughout the day!
