The sad case of Jonathan Landay

So it's come to this.

Jonathan Landay, a reporter in McClatchy DC bureau who has spent the last several years covering real and imagined abuses of the Bush administration during 2002 and 2003, apparently is an occasional guest on the Olbermann show.

Shouldn't be a surprise that Landay lands on the rancid left-wing Olbermann show: Landay and Olbermann are both left-wingers and they both seem obsessed with Bush and Cheney and torture and Guantanamo, etc.

Landay is stuck in 2002 and 2003 (the years he thinks Bush lied and tortured). So he is a natural fit with Bush-hater Keith Olbermann.

Here's the irony: Landay's 2002/2003 niche makes him ideal for appearances on Bush-hating shows like Keith Olbermann's, but it limits his appeal to legitimate news shows that cover real issues in 2009.

Above is a video from Friday night's show. If you want to spend 6:24 watching, you'll notice Olbermann and Landay both excuse Pelosi on the waterboarding issue -- even though she was briefed on waterboarding in 2002 and never voiced an objection until it became politically expedient to do so.

And they're both annoyed that the Obama administration won't hold a Truth Commission to investigate torture under Bush. (Thereby dashing Landay's dreams about going on other shows to talk about Bush torturing people.)

In a sign people are getting tired of Olbermann's shtick, ratings for his show have been heading south for some time.

As for left-wing Landay, somebody should tell him it's 2009, not 2002.

Bush, Cheney, Yoo, Bybee: torturers.

Betrayers of America. Corroders of the national character.

Cowards who didn't think the American way could win.

Is there any way to indict McClatchy employees such as Landy for sedition?

Anti-American, pro-Obama,pro-Osama, pro-Alqueda scum.

This provides an amazingly good insight into the mindset of the Left.

The exact same thing that is Good in 2002 - “the proles want the Country defended” (by waterboarding) becomes something that is bad in 2009 - “Bush's Administration committed torture” (by waterboarding).

So we see Pelosi, who has lied through her teeth to defend herself once the facts start emerging, trying to change the ‘facts’ to suit her purpose.

“I didn't know” becomes “I don't remember that” becomes “they said something different” becomes in the current iteration “you see, it doesn't actually say that” (Thank you Clinton)

The Left has never had a problem with telling lies.

Communist theology elevates it to one of the must-use tools of The Struggle. Kind of like ‘the state will wither away when we achieve our goals.’

Conservatives should always be on alert to trap and expose these lies as ruthlessly as possible.

The Left won't stop and they are not embarrassed when caught out for they are doing a Good Thing.

The truth has to be shown as unambiguously as possible. Let's do away with Newspeak “I misspoke” and substitute “you lied”

1) first she didn’t know what it was

2) Then she did know what it was, but was never told it was being used

3) then her AID was told it was being used used, not her directly (maybe she does not speak to her aides)

4)Then no one told her it was Iillegal

5) ??? whats next Nancy?

Creatures like landy will simply keep dusting of his knees, add more chin padding and then look for another democrat host to teabag.

As long as there is an MNI/DNC paper allowing him to shill, he will simply rinse and repeat just as long as he can.

To them he is a great communist, I mean american

You're missing the point. The sad part is that McClatchy considers this POS a reporter and one qualified to do national news at that. To them he is the pinnacle of what one of their reporters should be. That's why it will be a great day for democracy and America when McClatchy goes bankrupt.

Amen John. Amen.

McClatchy doesn't offer news, it provides Far Left propaganda.

Is Landay another KR reject? What a duffus!

Landay is proof positive that the old media has to die. How does someone so insanely biased work for any news organization? McClatchy can take their useful idiots right to the grave with their lost cause newspapers.

Translation: If I don't like it, it is "far left propaganda." If I like it (because it fits in with my far right ideology), it is "news."

Before all of you go getting all upset about Nancy Pelosi and the torture thing. Just remember the district she represents (leather, whips, chains, K-Y jelly in 50 gallon drums) might have a different definition of torture.

Is there a bigger cliche than the variations on:

"Translation: If I don't like it, it is "far left propaganda." If I like it (because it fits in with my far right ideology), it is "news."'

Is it because I"ve seen these tedious variations all of the many thousands of times these simple minded twits can't come up with a real argument, or is it just because it doesn't fit with my far right ideology? Hmmmmm....

Torturing war criminals should be prosecuted. They dishonored our country and our flag.

God bless America.

The resident Lefty Marxist Al-Queda moonbat sure does love to say 'Translation' a lot.

Would you like McClatchy reporters to parrot Republican views on Fox News? Is there even a case?

McClatchy is full of Marxist nutjobs like Landay that even a raving lunatic moonbat like yourself must realize this breaks journalistic norms and ethics.

Liberal logic: protect terrorists and put military veterans into concentration camps.

Per Fuhrer Obamababoon's orders.

Interesting, you have no arguments at all. You just say the same little chants over and over.

Pelosi Told Of W-Boarding Again In ‘03

A top aide to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi attended a CIA briefing in early 2003 in which it was made clear that waterboarding and other harsh techniques were being used in the interrogation of an alleged al-Qaeda operative, according to documents the CIA released to Congress on Thursday.

Pelosi has insisted that she was not directly briefed by Bush administration officials that the practice was being actively employed. But Michael Sheehy, a top Pelosi aide, was present for a classified briefing that included Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), then the ranking minority member of the House intelligence committee, at which agency officials discussed the use of waterboarding on terrorism suspect Abu Zubaida.

A Democratic source acknowledged yesterday that it is almost certain that Pelosi would have learned about the use of waterboarding from Sheehy.

Pelosi herself acknowledged in a December 2007 statement that she was aware that Harman had learned of the waterboarding and had objected in a letter to the CIA’s top counsel.

"It was my understanding at that time that Congresswoman Harman filed a letter in early 2003 to the CIA to protest the use of such techniques, a protest with which I concurred," Pelosi said in the Dec. 9, 2007, statement…

"I have every belief that either she or [Harman] were told waterboarding was going on. I have no doubt that the Democratic leadership on this committee in the House knew it was going on," said Rep. Peter Hoekstra (Mich.), who has been the top Republican on the intelligence panel since fall 2004…

"We were not — I repeat — were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used. What they did tell us is that they had some . . . Office of [Legal] Counsel opinions, that they could be used, but not that they would," she told reporters on April 23…

If Pelosi knew, she is as dishonored as the Republicans who embraced this barbarism.

No place in a democracy for torture. None. Leave the waterboarding and the walling to the totalitarian states.

Walling? Looks like our resident lefty troll is an anti-Semite.

What a shock.

You're a very interesting kind of troll. Everything said you translate to mean the very same thing.

The most interesting thing about you, is that you think you're funny saying the same thing, over and over again.

'Walling' is the Bush administration's term for slamming a detainee into a wall.

Where one finds anti-semitism in that is hard to say.
