In a couple of minutes of research I found the McClatchy article was linked at these blogs:
- Instapundit has a little item here.
- Gateway Pundit has a post titled: Seek & Destroy: Sotomayor Supporters Urging MSM to Target Firefighter Ricci For Speaking Out Against Judge
- Jammie Wearing Fool has a post titled: "A New Low in the Politics of Personal Destruction"
- Newsbusters has this: Sotomayor Backers Urge Press to Attack Fireman, Will Media Comply?
And, the McClatchy article was linked by Drudge -- that alone could easily result in several hundred thousand hits.
Great work by Doyle and Lightman; I hope this piece gets a lot of mileage.

When lefties can't defend the substance of her decision they attack the plaintiff. IF they can make this discussion about a Connecticut firefighter perhaps no one will notice the judge's pro-quota position.
Vicious dogs of the left will be loosed to teach this poor firefighter a lesson. Don't oppose a liberal in public. Especially one who has been groomed so carefully for the high court.
Reporters that attack a firefighter had better watch their words. The Ricci case opens the thoughts of Sotamayor being a racist. Resistance to having a racist on the supreme court makes perfect sense to me. That Sotamayor thinks white people can be discriminated against at her will, is no little matter.
In a backhanded way, the McClatchy journalists [aka] ‘probers’, admit they have been urged to attack Ricci. Wouldn’t it be something if the failing media tries to distract people by targeting the citizen instead of the real culprit, like they did in the Obama and Joe the plumber saga? That might not fly this time. The truth about the unethical tactics of the liberal media [aka] Democrats is no longer back page news. Although, one must consider that the front page and the back page of most newspapers are about five pages apart now.
The firefighter is not being nominated for the high court, Sotamayor is. Every examination of the firefighter is an attempt by the media to distract the public from the issue: Is Sotamayor an appropriate justice of the Supreme Court? Do her views on racial preference amount to racism? Does she have the judicial temperament for the high court?
“Sotomayor's flawed ruling against the white firefighters was overturned by the Supreme Court in June.”
She is not material for the Supreme Court, no way!
Words of a racist:
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Anon. All of the above, THANK YOU!!!
Funny, I get a picture of MNI libs screaming to the very last end, as they swirl down the toilet with all the other lib turd "reporters".
Even with our gay lib troll spewing here, no MNI lib has ever given a palpable reason to buy their slanted paper.
Liberals say her poor record is just a distraction.
“She's now been overturned 66% of the time by the Supreme Court.”

Good advice for the loony left.
"To go after so sympathetic a plaintiff as Frank Ricci . . . is a new low in the politics of personal destruction," said Roger Pilon, the director of the libertarian Cato Institute's Center for Constitutional Studies. "If they were smart, they'd keep a low profile."
“The liberal advocacy group -People for the American Way- drew reporters' attention to Ricci's past..” Who are they anyway?
As soon as you see the names of Alec Baldwin and Julian Bond, you know what this front group is really about. Look up Mary Frances Berry and all the others if the first two names don't get it for you.

Comment at The Volokh Conspiracy-
“But what did Mr. Ricci expect? The left-wing will slime a Down Syndrome infant in their quest for political power, so of COURSE they will slime a white, male firefighter.”
Slime a Downs Syndrome baby? Their biggest complaint with Palin is that she didn't kill the baby and sacrifice it to their sacrament of abortion
What else would anyone expect from the disgusting Maddow?

to Smear Republican Opposition
to Sotomayor Appointment
NewsBusters, by Jeff Poor
As the confirmation hearings for President Barack Obama's Supreme Court appointee Sonia Sotomayor are upon us, the left-wing attack machine had to take a few last shots at ranking Senate Judiciary Committee Republican Sen. Jeff Session, Ala., and the Republican Party as a whole.
The “backlash against these goons is gaining steam?” Dare we hope the liberal press is thinking twice about blindly carrying the water for Democrats this time?
JammieWearingFool writes:
“It's not a matter of intelligence. They simply harbor irrational hatred for anyone who opposes them and they lash out recklessly. Is it any wonder the backlash against these goons is gaining steam?
Would seem their time is better spent protesting Obama's nomination of an unqualified activist hack. Targeting a man who won his case doesn't seem like the American way to me.”
A good question for Sotomayor and Obama, “How to you decide who gets the empathy?”
Ricci spent countess extra hours to score well on the exam because of his learning disability. Where was his empathy?
___________
Ricci v. DeStefano.
The plaintiff in the case, Frank Ricci, is a learning disabled firefighter who, as you recall, put considerably more time into preparing for the lieutenant's exam given his disability. Because of his dyslexia, Ricci had a friend record his exam textbooks into a tape recorder and spent every spare hour studying. After taking such great strides to overcome his disadvantage, he ranked sixth in the competition for eight lieutenant spots but was nonetheless denied the promotion on account of race.
Key Questions for Sonia Sotomayor

Question #4: The "Empathy" Standard
http://www.heritage.org/Research/LegalIssues/wm2534.cfm
How would you feel about going to court when the judge's background leaves them both "empathetic" for the other side and feeling free to decide the case on the basis of her feelings?
Once we make this change then the judiciary is no longer about the law, it's about power. We would no longer be a nation of laws but a nation of aggrieved interest groups with empathetic judges deciding as they feel.
Embracing a empathy-centric view of the law is a line that our nation just should not cross.
"Slime a Downs Syndrome baby? Their biggest complaint with Palin is that she didn't kill the baby and sacrifice it to their sacrament of abortion."
Mr. Altevogt: Please cite a single reference from a representative of the mainstream media to substantiate your comment. Thanks in advance.

Their biggest complaint with Palin is that she didn't kill the baby and sacrifice it to their sacrament of abortion
=================
I couldn't believe my eyes when reading all the articles about how she was irresponsible for not killing the baby. That was the point that I knew that leftist media had hit it's bottom.
Of course I was completely wrong when they amended their thoughts and decided that it wasn't her baby at all. It was her daughter's.
Of course when that blew up in their face, the next step was that she was an unfit mother because she was on a trip when she went into labor.
That was truly a new low in Journalism, but in hindsight, it was probably the most valuable learning tool for millions of Americans who had to that point swallow every denial and excuse the media would dish out.
All I can say is thanks, Maher, NY Times, Seattle Pi, SF Gate, McClatchy, Houston Chronicle and the rest.
Sincere Thanks to Sarah Palin for weathering the assault with such class and dignity. No one has ever exposed the left for what they are in such a dramatic manner.
Which is just another reason for why we love her. What a real life heroine. Palin is more woman than any of these insecure feminist bimbos you'll ever meet. Three cheers for Sarah.
Amen Mr. John, AMEN
Palin is more woman than any of these insecure feminist bimbos you'll ever meet.
Keep in mind that the insecure feminist bimbo's goal is to be a man.
LOL Word Verification is "prence"
