Busted. Van Jones Linked to 9-11 Truther Movement Back in **January 2002** (GatewayPundit)

Yesterday, news broke out that Barack Obama's communist Green Czar was a 9-11 Truther. The administration much later in the day released a statement saying Van Jones was "not now or ever" involved in the 9-11 Truther movement.

Jones said the petition he signed in 2004 did not reflect his views and that he did not carefully review the language in the petition before agreeing to add his name..

Not true.

This article at Rense.com from 2002links Van Jones to the 9-11 Truther movement at its infancy:

And, here is a list of members involved with the organization including Van Jones:

It looks like the well-oiled Axelrodian machine in the White House forgot about Google when they released their statment.
Bummer.

Van Jones Signed Anti-Cop Statement By Maoist Cult in 2006

Van Jones, the controversial Green Jobs Czar in the Obama administration endorsed an anti-police day of action initiated by a Maoist communist cult group, the Revolutionary Communist Party, in 2006.

The statement for the action is entitled, "Call for Oct. 22, 2006: Eleventh Annual National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation", and states in part:

Conspiracy Czar (FrontPageMagazine.com)

IT MUST MARK A NEW LOW IN PRESIDENTIAL HISTORY when the fact that someone is a self-described Communist is not the most damning thing that can be said of a presidential adviser entrusted with federal power.

Not only is Green Jobs Czar Van Jones a 9/11 Truther, but his organization believes Hurricane Katrina was a Bush conspiracy, as well. His unique combination of radicalism and irresponsibility provides a remarkable window into Barack Obama’s own radicalism.

After a string of embarrassing revelations, yesterday the press reported that Jones had joined such notable leftists as Cynthia McKinney, Ralph Nader, and Howard Zinn in signing the 9/11 Truth Statement (signature #46), which called for a federal investigation whether President Bush knew about –or perhaps colluded in – the destruction of the World Trade Center.

This is somewhat ironic, since on the evening after 9/11, Jones stood in the streets with the Maoist-communist organization he founded – Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM) – to denounce the United States for having brought the disaster on itself.

The Real Van Jones Scandal: Why Glenn Beck Is Right (The American Spectator)

As a former White House aide myself, there are two incidents that tell me Glenn Beck is right in asking his questions about Van Jones.

Two incidents that ask an even more serious question than anything asked about Jones himself.

The question: What did the Obama White House know about Van Jones and when did they know it?

From David Horowitz's (FrontPageMag.com)

PROFILE: VAN JONES

• Became a Communist in the aftermath of the 1992 "Rodney King riots" in Los Angeles

• Founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights in 1996

• Was active in the anti-Iraq War demonstrations organized by International ANSWER

• Served as a board member of the Rainforest Action Network and Free Press

• In March 2009, President Barack Obama named Jones to be his so-called "Green Jobs Czar."

Born in 1968 in rural West Tennessee, Van Jones earned a B.A. degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and then attended Yale Law School.

During his years at Yale, Jones served as an intern with the San Francisco-based Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights (LCCR), which views the United States as an irredeemably racist nation and "champions the legal rights of people of color, poor people, immigrants and refugees, with a special commitment to African-Americans."

Jones says that he first became politically radicalized in the aftermath of the deadly April 1992 Los Angeles riots which erupted shortly after four L.A. police officers who had beaten the infamous Rodney King were exonerated in court.

"I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th," says Jones, who is black, "and then the verdicts came down on April 29th. By August, I was a communist."

Jones was arrested during the L.A. riots and spent a short time in jail. "I met all these young radical people of color," he recalls, "I mean really radical: communists and anarchists.

And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.' I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary."

Van Jones Denies Being Part of 9/11 "Truther" Movement, Apologizes for Past Comments (ABC NEWS)

A top environmental official of the Obama administration issued a statement Thursday apologizing for past incendiary statement and denying that he ever agreed with a 2004 petition on which his name appears, a petition calling for congressional hearings and an investigation by the New York Attorney General into "evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur."

Van Jones, the Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, is Number 46 of the petitioners from the so-called "Truther" movement which suggests that people in the administration of President George W. Bush "may indeed have deliberately allowed 9/11 to happen, perhaps as a pretext for war."

So is ABC lying, once again shilling like McClatchy, failed to conduct proper or intentionally failed to do any research, or just lagging behind in the internet’s news cycle?

And idiots like McClatchy simply want us to by their Marxist supporting paper?

China's national flag to go up in White House on Sept 20 (China Daily)

The national flag of the People's Republic of China (PRC) will be hoisted at the South Lawn of the White House in Washington on September 20, media reported Sunday.

Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President’s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC.

Chen Ronghua, chairman of Fujian Association of the United States, told reporters that their application was approved not only because of the sound Sino-US relations but also because China is a responsible country.

Megyn Kelly Mentions GP Story of HCAN Supporters Being Instructed on How to Shut Down Opponents...

Soros-Funded Blog Not Pleased (GatewayPundit)

On the September 2 edition of Fox News' America's Newsroom, co-host Megyn Kelly gave a "hat tip" to the blog Gateway Pundit, which Kelly said is where "we found" video of "a new effort to silence critics of the Democrats' [health care] plan."

Apparently, the Soros astroturfed hate website Media Matters was not pleased that Gateway Pundit was mentioned on the air.

Oh well. Maybe when they break a valid story that is worth a crap instead of their usual smear job, Megyn Kelly will mention them too.

Once and Future Taxes (New York Times says Obama needs to RAISE TAXES broadly)

So far, the Obama administration’s plan for dealing with the budget deficit — an estimated $9 trillion over a decade — is to not dig the hole any deeper.

That’s an important first step. President Obama deserves credit for proposing ways to pay for his two big initiatives to date: health care reform and energy legislation.

Reducing the growth in health care costs, in particular, is vital to curbing future deficits.

As for the hundreds of billions of dollars in economic stimulus, their impact on long-term deficits is marginal because the spending is temporary.

More important, deficit spending is warranted in a recession because it eases the downturn and in so doing, averts even worse damage to the economy and the budget.

But, sooner than he may prefer, Mr. Obama will have to face up to what he has so far avoided: the need to raise taxes broadly to rein in deficits.

The Michigan Example (How government investment in business FAILED to create jobs) WSJ

A central belief in Washington and most state capitals nowadays is that government should "invest" in certain businesses—"clean tech," say, or manufacturing—to drive job creation. We hope it all turns out better than it has in Michigan.

For the past 14 years, Lansing politicians have offered $3.3 BILLION in tax credits through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and spent another $1.6 BILLION in outlays to create and retain jobs.

The subsidies have ranged from tax breaks for Hollywood, to money for new industrial plants, to millions for TV ads starring Jeff Daniels and Tim Allen talking about business and tourism in the state.

It's one of the largest experiments in smokestack chasing in American history, but one thing it hasn't done is create jobs.

An exhaustive new 100-page study by the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, a Michigan think tank, has reviewed where all the money has gone and what came of it.

The study finds that for every 100 jobs that were promised with these tax credits over 14 years, only 29 arrived. Dare we call this cash for clunkers?

I loved this tidbit:

So in a state with the highest unemployment rate in the nation at 15%, taxpayers last year gave out $48 million in subsidies to Hollywood millionaires.

Obama Regulation Czar Advocated Removing People’s Organs Without Explicit Consent (CNSNews.com)

Obama’s nominee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), has advocated a policy under which the government would “presume” someone has consented to having his or her organs removed for transplantation into someone else when they die unless that person has explicitly indicated that his or her organs should not be taken.

Under such a policy, hospitals would harvest organs from people who never gave permission for this to be done.

Outlined in the 2008 book “Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness,” Sunstein and co-author Richard H. Thaler argued that the main reason that more people do not donate their organs is because they are required to choose donation.

Sunstein and Thaler pointed out that doctors often must ask the deceased’s family members whether or not their dead relative would have wanted to donate his organs.

These family members usually err on the side of caution and refuse to donate their loved one’s organs.

“The major obstacle to increasing [organ] donations is the need to get the consent of surviving family members,” said Sunstein and Thaler.

House Liberals Write Directly To Obama: No Public Option, No Support (The Plum Line)

In a letter delivered to the White House moments ago, the two leaders of the bloc of House progressives bluntly told President Obama that they will not support any health care plan without a public option in it — and demanded a meeting to inform him face to face.

The not-yet-released letter — the first joint statement from progressives since news emerged that Obama might not address the public option in next week’s speech — is their sharpest challenge yet to the president, given the extraordinary sensitivity of this political moment.

The letter urges him to mention the public option in his speech.
“Any bill that does not provide, at a minimum, a public option built on the Medicare provider system and with reimbursement based on Mediare rates — not negotiated rates — is unacceptable,” reads the letter, which was sent over by a source. It was signed by Reps. Lynn Woolsey and Raul Grijalva, the two leaders of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

“A health reform bill without a robust public option will not achieve the health reform this country so desperately needs,” the letter continues. “We cannot vote for anything less.”

“We look forward to meeting with you regarding a robust public option in any final health reform bill and request that that meeting take place as soon as possible,” the letter says.

Last month, five dozen House liberals wrote a letter to Nancy Pelosi ruling out support for any bill without the public option. While today’s letter doesn’t bear all those signatures, it signals that House progressive leaders intend to try to maintain a united, potentially confrontational front even as the president prepares to make his case in a major, make-or-break address to Congress.

Should Obama jettison the public option, progressives will come under tremendous pressure to back the plan anyway. White House advisers will likely insist that liberals mustn’t deny the president a historic victory and enable a defeat that could cripple the first African-American presidency.

Sorry, Charlie Rep. Rangel must step aside as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
(The Washington Post)

FOR POLITICIANS with major bad news to release or to make public, there's no time like the dead of August to do it.

The thinking goes that the public won't remember a thing come September. We hope Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.) will have no such luck. His belated revelation of previously unreported income, property and bank accounts demands that he step aside as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Mr. Rangel's amended financial disclosure form, which exposes omissions from his 2002 through 2006 records, is a treasure trove of outrage.

He neglected to report a checking account with the Congressional Federal Credit Union and one with Merrill Lynch, each valued between $250,000 and $500,000; the tens of thousands of dollars he's earning from dividends from a number of mutual funds and stocks; and the money made from the sale of a Harlem townhouse.

As a result, Mr. Rangel's reported net worth doubled, from between $516,015 and $1,316,000 to between $1,028,024 and $2,495,000.

Polls Tell Grim Tale For Obama (News Max)

This week's polls are a disaster for President Barack Obama. The Rasmussen poll has his approval dropping to 45 percent, after several weeks at 49 percent. The Zogby poll has it even lower — at 42 percent.

Worse yet, he's losing his political base:

People under 30 — long a key element of his support — give him no better than break-even ratings, with 41 percent approving and 41 percent disapproving of the job he's doing, according to Zogby.

Only 75 percent of Democrats, who formerly have supported Obama strongly, now approve of his performance in office. Zogby reports that this represents a slide of more than 10 points over the summer.

Even among blacks, only 74 percent approve of the job he's doing (also a drop of more than 10 points).

Hispanics, who voted for him by a margin of more than 40 points, now break even (36-36) when rating his performance.

Obama's campaign site trashes most Americans as "right-wing domestic terrorists"

The "post-partisan" candidate for "change" is no longer merely suggesting that anyone who questions his time-disproven health care ideas is a "right-wing extremist" and potential terrorist.

Now, he flat-out calls opponents of ObamaCare "right-wing domestic terrorists" on his own site.

Ironically, he does this while refusing to acknowledge our fight against actual terrorists--as part of his trademark Orwellian "call everything the opposite of what it is" approach to the national debate.

Why Parents Don't Trust Educator-In-Chief IBD

They think we're crazy. "They" are the sneering defenders of Barack Obama who can't fathom the backlash against the president's nationwide speech to schoolchildren next Tuesday.

"We" are parents with eyes wide open to the potential for politicized abuse in America's classrooms.

Ask moms and dads in Farmington, Utah, who discovered this week that their children sat through a Hollywood propaganda video promoting the cult of Obama.

In the clip, a parade of entertainers vow to flush their toilets less, buy hybrid vehicles, end poverty and world hunger, and commit to "service" for "change."

Actress Demi Moore leads the glitterati in a collective promise "to be a servant to our president." Musician Anthony Kiedis pledges "to be of service to Barack Obama."

The campaign commercial crescendos with the stars and starlets asking their audience: "What's your pledge?"

This same "Do Something" ethos infected the U.S. Department of Education teachers guides accompanying the announcement of Obama's speech — until late Wednesday, that is, when the White House removed some of the activist language exhorting students to come up with ways to "help the president."

Growing Anger Could Jeopardize Obama's Standing (usnews.com)

Rising opposition to President Obama's healthcare proposals may be morphing into something broader and deeper: an anti-Obama movement that could jeopardize the president's political standing, damage the Democratic Party, and give the Republicans new life.

The concerns about "Obamacare" have triggered angry protests and emotional shout-downs at Democratic legislators' town hall meetings this August.

And whether or not these eruptions have been orchestrated by right-wing groups, as Obama strategists contend, opposition to his healthcare overhaul has struck a nerve.

In fact, the healthcare furor has inflamed political passions and raised doubts that seem to be spreading to other areas, such as Obama's expansion of government power, corporate bailouts, and vast increases in the federal debt.

The president's burgeoning and costly agenda got another jolt last week from a government projection that deficits will increase from $7.1 trillion to $9 trillion over the next decade.

MSNBC Guest: Unwillingness to Have Obama in Classroom Symptom of Why School Kids 'Are So Dumb Today'
NewsBusters

Once again, one of the masters of the universe trotted out on MSNBC has discovered the cure to one of society's ills - more Obama.

Daily Voice editor and CNBC contributor Keith Boykin waved off the reservations of some parents about President Barack Obama addressing their children in the classroom.

Boykin appeared on MSNBC on Sept. 3in a segment about the classroom controversy and added his insightful commentary on the matter.

"So much of the debate about President Obama has been politicized in an effort by some to delegitimize his presidency," Boykin said.

"This is clearly much ado about nothing. We're talking about the President of the United States speaking to school kids. Why wouldn't schools want this to happen?

That's why our kids are so dumb today, because they don't want to have basic common sense in the classroom."

Van Jones - The 2009 Time 100
(Time BY Leonardo DiCaprio)

When Van Jones was tapped to serve as special adviser on green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality earlier this year, the appointment was heralded as a significant development for the green movement. And for good reason.

A pioneer in fusing economic opportunity and social justice with environmentalism, Jones, 40, represents an important progression in our country's perception and thus our approach to combatting global warming.

At the center of Jones' vision for socially uplifting environmentalism is the creation of "green collar" jobs, a phrase he helped extend beyond advocacy and policy circles into mainstream conversation. Jones insists that these jobs not only contribute directly to preserving and enhancing environmental quality but also provide either family-supporting wages or a career ladder to move low-income workers into higher-skilled occupations.

Obama as 'Dear Leader' (Human Events)

Failing miserably in his quest to convince America’s grown-ups of the virtues of government-run health care, President Obama has set his sights on a much more captive audience: the millions of children embarking on another year in America’s often dismal government-run schools.

The White House says the president’s address to students next Tuesday is supposed to “inspire” and challenge them to “work hard, set educational goals and take responsibility for their learning.”

SNIP

Most disturbing is that the White House has collaborated with the Department of Education to distribute a study guide to accompany the speech.

The guide is chalk full of writing assignments for students, including an instruction for students to write a letter to themselves about what they can do to help President Obama.

For kids in grades seven through twelve, the study guide suggests teachers prepare by excerpting quotes from Obama's speeches on education for their students to contemplate questions like “Why does President Obama want to speak with us today?” As well as “How will he inspire us?” And “How will he challenge us?”

Faced with intense protest of the heavy-handed propaganda-laden event, the White House has now backed off some of its earlier plans.

Newsprint prices continue to fallComments (Guardian UK) WHEN NO ONE BUYS YOUR POSTAGE STAMP SIZE, BIASED PAPERS, THESE THINGS ARE BOUND TO HAPPEN

Newsprint prices go on dropping due to persistent falls in demand, reports Philip Stone.

From the beginning of the year, when newsprint was at $749.63 (£460) a tonne, until this week the price has dropped 40%, according to FOEX Indexes.

No wonder newsprint producers are suffering huge losses. For example, Canada's Catalyst Paper Corporation reported a $1m (£610,000) second quarter loss.

Its ceo, Richard Garnea, says: "We are seeing a deep cyclical downturn in our industry as well as demand shifts and structural changes."

In response to the decline in demand producers have been withholding capacity. Yet the price has continued to go down. And the prognosis for future newsprint usage doesn't look too healthy for manufacturers.

Stone believes that newspapers are not expecting increased pagination because classifieds ads won't return to newsprint. Meanwhile, editorial is being cut too.

Brian Tierney's Crusade to Rescue Philadelphia's Papers Faces Deadline (WSJ)

Brian Tierney has spent three years trying to revive Philadelphia's two struggling newspapers. A judge this month will decide whether his time is up.

On Sept. 15, Mr. Tierney, a former Philadelphia adman, will face off against creditors that are owed $300 million and want to seize ownership of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News.

Mr. Tierney is trying to remain in charge of the papers -- which fell into bankruptcy under his watch -- by buying out creditors for pennies on the dollar.

If a judge sides with creditors, it may spell the end to Mr. Tierney's drive. If Mr. Tierney prevails, he could become a model for how other urban newspapers work through bankruptcy.

From Gore to Richardson: Holder keeps proving Democrats have “ no controlling legal authority” (The Collins Report)

For Eric Holder the law never applies to Democrats.

He whitewashed Gore, now Richardson.

In September of 1997 the Clinton Department of Justice was stuck with a complaint of federal campaign finance law violations by Vice President Al Gore.

Except for the allegations against Richard Nixon, Americans had not seen such a high reaching and potentially explosive criminal inquiry.

AG Janet Reno ordered her best “cleaner” to get to work. She handed it off to Eric Holder.

Al Gore was charged with violating federal laws against soliciting campaign finance “donations” from his office. The allegations were based on clear black and white law with no wiggle room.

With no real defense Gore brazenly insisted there was “no controlling legal authority” that made his actions illegal. In affect Gore denied the law existed.

Holder cleaned up that pile of dung by making believe he agreed with Gore and dropped the investigation.

Cleaning up for Bill Richardson

Last week Eric Holder got out his mop and pail again and went to work. This time he had to clean up former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s pay-to-play scandal. Again the evidence was damning and copious.

Top Tehran TV journalist wanted by FBI for 1980 murder in the US (TimesOnline - UK)

An American fugitive, accused of murdering an aide to the late Shah of Iran in the United States, was made an editor of Iran’s English-language television network in Tehran.

Hassan Abdulrahman, who is wanted by the FBI for shooting dead Ali Akbar Tabatabai in Maryland, worked for Iran’s flagship broadcaster Press TV, which has bureaus across the world, including London.

A Press TV journalist who resigned in protest over the channel’s coverage of the apparently rigged Iranian election in June told The Times yesterday that Mr Abdulrahman was chief editor at the head office of the network.

The journalist, who wanted to remain anonymous for security reasons, said that Mr Abdulrahman showed no remorse when quizzed by staff about murdering Mr Tabatabai.

“Knowing that a person wanted by the FBI for murder was influencing the editorial line of the network and choosing the stories people around the world would watch didn’t seem right to me,” the journalist said.

Mr Abdulrahman, 58, admitted killing Mr Tabatabai but tried to distance himself from Press TV when contacted yesterday. He admitted working for Press TV for three years as the chief online editor but said that he resigned two months ago after the election.

Fox is featuring an investigation into our schools’ textbooks. One of the subjects is that some textbooks rewrite our history, and often lead our children to believe the USA is a terrible nation. One of the books actually suggests that American Indians should hate Columbus and insist that his exploration of America be treated as a holocaust type invasion. This topic couldn’t have come at a better time. This is a very needed discussion, and we can thank a fraud president that it will finally receive the attention it deserves.

Biden "acting" POTUS.....as Obama out of sight (washingtontimes.com)

Can you believe this: With President Obama off on vacation, his second in two weeks, unofficial Acting President Joe Biden has stepped into the vacuum, claiming credit Thursday for the successes of the administration's $787 billion stimulus package and fielding questions on health care reform -- something his boss hasn't done in nearly two weeks."

If GW had ever, ever shown any sign of taking a breather like this with Cheney assuming temp duty as POTUS.....the MSM would have been doing double back-flips 24/7 while screeching at a high pitch.

This idiot has gotten ahold of something he can't handle and has no idea how to get out........thus his "extended vacation."

He can't teleprompter his way out of this one. And apparently he and his staff have yet to figure out his positioning for this Wednesday's speech (again, oy vey) clarifying further (again) his thoughts on health reform.

What does he do on his first day back? Can Van? Apologize for the school presentation? Apologize for the unemployment numbers? Deny this story?

Although Obama attended public school in Indonesia early in life, he soon switched to a private Catholic school, and from fifth grade through graduation went to a private college-prep school in Hawaii. His own daughters now attend a private school in Washington D.C....
