More “balance” at the Sacramento Bee

Today’s Commentary page in the Sacramento Bee's print edition contains two opinion pieces. The authors: David Ignatius and Wayne S. Smith.

David Ignatius is the left-leaning commentator who has published articles in left-leaning magazines The Washington Monthly, The Atlantic Monthly, and The New Republic. Ignatius is infamous for agreeing to speak at a 2003 conference organized by the terror group Hezbollah. (Yes, Ignatius is left-leaning. If you want more evidence, just read his own article today, which argues Obama will be a better president than McCain because Obama is “inexperienced.”) I couldn't locate Ignatius' article on the Bee's web site so I am linking to the Washington Post web site.

Wayne S. Smith is with the Center for International Policy in Washington, a left-leaning organization founded by “diplomats and former peace activists in the wake of the Vietnam war.”

So here is today’s balance at the Bee: 100% left-of-center opinion pieces, 0% right-of-center.

(For what it's worth, I'd have no objection if 100% of the Bee's opinion pieces were written by liberals if the Bee would just admit its bias, instead of pretending to be objective.)
