Sacramento Bee regurgitates anti-Marine Haditha slur in part 2 of series documenting criminals in the US military

The first sentence in the 2nd installment of the Bee's series on criminals in the military repeats the anti-Marine slur that Marines allegedly killed 24 innocent Iraqis. I should have stopped reading right there, but I made the mistaking of finishing the entire article. The point of the series appears to be this: there are alot of criminals in the military. And it's Bush's fault because he lowered enlistment standards. I suggest you do yourself a favor and skip it.

About the Haditha cases, DefendOurMarines has the actual status:
Eight Marines were originally charged. Charges have been dismissed against six Marines, one was found not guilty on all counts. The government is currently appealing the dismissal of charges against Lt Col Chessani. The prosecution has delayed the court martial of SSgt Frank Wuterich indefinitely. For the latest official word, go to the USMC Iraq Investigations site. The Court Martial of Ssgt Frank Wuterich has been postponed indefinitely, it is likely to be in the fall.
A commenter at SacBee.com says the series should have be called "Suspect Reporting," not "Suspect Soldiers." Well said.

McClatchy continues crusade against Haditha Marines
Charges against another Haditha Marine dismissed
Maybe McClatchy would cover the atrocities if they were committed by Marines
