Most absurd line in the editorial:
He makes up for a thin résumé with integrity, judgment and fresh ideas.Give the Seattle Times credit for acknowledging Obama's "thin resume."
And notice the editorial writers at Times didn't further embarrass themselves by trying to list Obama's achievements -- he has no achievements to list. His name is attached to no legislation, and he has never broken a sweat trying to advance any cause beyond his own career.
But let's talk about Obama's judgment. To put it charitably, Obama's judgment is awful. He has a history of poor judgment in choosing business partners (now-convicted felon Tony Rezko), pastors (America hater Jeremiah Wright), political associates (unrepentant bomber Bill Ayers). He is on a first-name basis with the radical co-founder of Code Pink. No good judgment there.
As commander-in-chief he said he would jettison some of our military's most important assets. That's not good judgment; in fact, it's reckless.
And how about talking to Ahmadinejad without pre-conditions? I don't know of anybody who thinks that shows good judgment. Hillary Clinton called his position "irresponsible and naive."
Obama said he wouldn't hesitate to ignore the advice of General David Petraeus -- that's not good judgment.
Obama went to Berlin and delivered a speech that included a segment about unenlightened Americans. Good judgment? No.
Obama voted NO on the confirmation of John Roberts and NO on the confirmation of Samuel Alito. Most Americans view Roberts and Alito as respected jurists.
As for fresh ideas, he has no fresh ideas. What he offers is just warmed-over liberalism. (What else would you expect from the Senate's most liberal politician?)
Obama is sorely lacking in judgment and fresh ideas. And the Seattle Times demeaned itself by praising Obama's judgment.
