A more colorful Bee: As we announced earlier, starting with that Sept. 29 edition, we'll be printing our paper at our sister Bee in Sacramento. Among the benefits of that move is a significantly greater color capacity throughout the paper.
My newspaper is already printed in Sacramento, and I can tell you, the newspapers printed here are a mess.

Welcome to the New improved Modestamento Bee...or should that be the Sacradesto Bee? With all the layoffs and buyouts, who is left to report on the local news?
Point No.1 Gee Mark, remember the money spent to cut down the Modesto press? We have (had) the ability to do that!
Point No.2 You gotta remind us where every thing is? Cramming more into less space makes sense economically...until the readers get fed up and cancel subscriptions. Shifting deadlines to get the paper delivered on time??? Lots of upset parents who will not see their kid's football scores in print, just N/A. And even earlier deadlines when it's foggy or raining.
Point No.3 More color...more OFF SET INK to rub off on readers hands and clothing...oil based ink is not earth friendly...Modesto Bee water based ink is! Color ink is also more expensive!
Point No.4 OK readers, get out your Silly Putty so you can transfer color comics . The kiddies will love this...along with ink on their togs. Color comics? Color ink costs more and who is paying for that on the comics page?
Point No.5 Same 'ol liberal drivel...Yadda...Yadda...Yadda...BUT with MORE color! And you gotta remind us of it's new location.
Point No.6 Status Quo...You gotta tell the readers where things are again!
Point No.7 Stocks HO HUM How is McClatchy stock doing? Will this lift it from it's under $5.00 status?
Point No.8 Cramming 10 pounds of fertilizer into a 5 pound sack. Seems appropriate as the Real Estate market is in the toilet anyway. Valley Homes used to be 56 pages, now it is down to 6. Good call here, one less press run.
Point No.9 This looks intriguing. More fluff though to plump up the thin Monday edition.
Point No.10 (This reads like Letterman) READ IT ON www.modbee.com...modbee is like meditating in a room full of Harley Davidson's. Too much crap going on...flashing ads, the RV dude jumping up and down screaming, I have to turn off the sound. Makes me want to punch my monitor. Gary Pruitt wants to shift the printed paper to the electronic paper...with dismal results already.
When the "New Bee" is delivered to my door I WILL "cancel the Bee".
Besides after Sunday I will be laid off form the Bee so I have to make some serious economic considerations and The Sacradesto Bee doesn't fit into my economic plans.
Isn't there some way you could go to you local TV stations and get them to run a story about the way McClatchy has treated the employee's. Print up flyers and go out on a Saturday and distribute them. Let all the unions know the'll help. Time has come that this crap has to stop....
YOU CAN CONTACT CHANEL 3 NEWS BY E-MAIL THEY WILL CALL YOU. THE OTHER STATIONS HAVE STUFF WITH THE BEE.
WE HAVE ALL READ THE SMOKE SCREEN WRITTEN IN THE MODESTO BEE BY MARK AND MARGRET THAT DOES NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY,ALL THE LIVES AFFECTED AND THE GOOD EMPLOYEES THAT LOST THERE JOBS. HANK IN MERCED TOOK CARE OF THOSE PEOPLE.I HOPE THE PEOPLE WHO TAKE MODESTO BEE ENJOY GETTING DIRTY READING THE PAPER.
